Dearest Mummie:

All stationery except this is packed so this letter will have to be brief. Max and I were out to Glen Ellyn Fri. & Sat. Varnished the two front room floors, and the dining room & bedroom floors, also the hallway in the addition.  Painted the northroom floor Mahogany brown, also bathroom floor, hallway and stairs. Varnished the vestibule floor

on side and upside down across bottom: Mr. Mounsey, the man who was to move us went down on the Lusitania, also his son-in-law too. Mrs. Wilson's brother married Myrtle Mounsey. Sally M. sent a cable from Queenstown saying she is safe but destitute.
