Lake Forest and I knew him slightly outside the hospital. He was having breakfast that morning when I knocked, and he greeted me enthusiastically and waved his spoon toward the armchair near the bed. "Have you got time to sit down for a minute?" I've been doing some thinking this morning and now I feel like talking. Do you mind? Will you have a piece of candy? No?
