to ---- and started back while was at Miss SLaughter's as we had a little talk just before they drove off, then Iona continued the talk after. The problem of the little children is still unsolved but will have to be in January. Larrie is to be operated on early Tuesday tomorrow morning, but they hadn't told the poor kidXXX Had a little talk with Miss Slaughter thanking her again and I read that paragraph to her that you wrote about your Registrar party and your playing for the community singing both times. Mis. S. said I was welcome and I was glad I could come. Where did you have your Christmas dinner? You mentioned --- coming ChristmasEve, but nothing further except Martha thanking for Tommy's book. Today is grey, cloudy but not cold. Yesterday was one of our ideal days. I have no fire, and each cat has her own favorite places, Tome the sewing machine, Jerry in rocking chair by empty stove and Laddie on my neck. Wish I could fins a nice home for Jerry. He is a lovely, handsome cat and lets me handle hime now, but the others pick on him and sit in his face. He is wonderful to them, kisses them always when they meet and would love them. Happy New Year! Much love to all, Mother
