4717 Kimbark Ave. Chicago Ills. May 19. 1886. Dear Ones. I received a letter from father this morning Am always glad to hear from home. & this morning especially so for I am alone this week. Charlie went to New York Sunday P.M. & will gone all this week & it is rather lonesome underscore like to stay in this house with more than half of the windows fastened down with sticks & glass out of front door & the like. But I have survived three nights I can remember just how it used to look. I hear from Julia as usual - Fred has gone to Lisbon Falls again.
