25 Let the following figures tell in part the story.

 During the awakening between 1730-1745 50,000 were converted. 40,000 more annually from 1790-1840 and 400,000 more in the year 1857-8.  Does not this tell us where our Churches come from? Make it still more a personal matter. Where did you find peace? In a revival or not? If not in a revival did you not first get your eyes open to see your need of a savior there: If the truth could be known I believe the very large majority of believers would date their Conversion back to some awakening. x  Are we then under any obligation to revivals? Let me put it in still another light - Those who have been saved in revivals of course feel under obligations to advocate them - but is there not another class who ought to be thankful for them and welcome them - and do all in their power to promote them:  Who lives in
