8 again, that thy people may rejoice in him? Again, probably about this time - it may be in answer to the prayer just quoted. The people gathered themselves together at Jerusalem and commanded Ezra to bring out the book of the land of Moses. And he read it to them "from morning till midday." They could not seemingly get enough of the word of God. And when he blessed the Lord - All the people answered Amen, amen lifting up their hands and worshiping the Lord with their faces on the ground. That was a revival. They had dishonored the Lord - had despised his worship and his word - But now they made haste to do works meet? for repentance - They restored the true worship - they broke up heathen alliances, or in other words, as we would say - separated themselves from the world, and began to contribute again to the support of the temple services.
