Her books stand next to yours, and along with Jane Austen and E.H. Young and Ethel Sidgwick. Christmas I can't quite face this year, the world is too much with us early and late. It is a comfort to have friends, but no fun being eighty with no grandchildren, and in a body that is not what it might be.
