[Letterheaded Prince George Hotel, Fifth Ave & 28 Street, New York]

Oct 31st 1913

Dear Mary

I am a poor correspondent. I would not write at all only that I like to get your letters. Am out here giving a few lectures here been good crowds & enthusiastic meetings. Seem to have lots of friends. Have had a day or two with Gertrude she is as me enthusiastic as ever. She is awfully fond of you - Frank Wolfe to is here & others Have not been trying to meet many in fact trying not to. Your letter about the Rabi impressed me I rather believe he is right. The [unclear] movement is raising hell now but I think there must be a reaction or that it will come largely from women. After while when they come [protected?] place & get talked about they may strike for freedom - but we will be heard - still nature knows little of either you or me. the reason I wrote nothing in Jean Christophe was because I did not see it I just [unclear] it I am as glad to know what you think of it. It is certainly a marvelous book to reccieve
