127 On entering the town is observed "Planters Exchange" "Gibb's grocery" "Huntsville Hotel" &c &c - Mr Macdonald besides a very large and comfortable residence has built a brick store, the upper part devoted to a masonic lodge. A large brick building for girls & boys schools is now building & many other improvements going on.

The town is supplied with p?or? good springs and wells at twelve feet supply abundance of water. On one side of the town there is a Sulpher Spring indeed there are many of this character in the county. Game is in abundance but on account of the dense pine woods the hunting is more difficult.
Three miles from this & at forty feet depth, a small fossel horn & fossel bones have been found.
