My date for the trip to E Palatka has been changed to Feb. 10, and this gives me time to get more mending done on F.'s union suits. I've done two to the best of my ability. Today is cold but lovely sunshine. I tried to get F. to go out and sit in it, but he'd rather sit by the stove and read The Grapes of Wrath. -- He has gone out on the porch, cap, gloves and coat and with an expression of doing his damndest to please me by sitting in the sunshine. Wish I had his picture as he looks now! ---- Went out and took two, then we sat on the steps and he reminisced for an hour. The neighbors a block away could hear most of it, but I let him go on as I wanted him to sit in the sunshine. This (Wed.) (42 degrees) a.m. a woman from Harris Cleaning Co. is to come and measure him and alter the suits he bought at Salvation Army in Peoria and the vests Hartman gave him.
