2 for thirty days, so I refused to sign. Miss Mattie had made the deed out so she told me to take it home and I'll have to go again when the money is availabe. Mrs. Renfro thinks I did quite right. The thing that decided me is this: some weeks ago Gueret had a stroke and was in Walker Hospital in a coma for five days before he came consciousness. He is about 65-7 and I felt I didn't want to take the chance. It is he, though, who will have to make the Aug. 10 payment to me. I called up Miss Mattie about it, and she promised to see to it. Mrs. R. not so well some days, but she drags around to do the cooking. Mrs. Moore is her invaluable helper. Took some g.f. over to the Beyers last eve'g and traded them for avocadoes. They have 2 big trees. She has big flashlight and brought me home. Having hot and dry weather I weeded yest a.m. before bkfst, then loafed the rest of the day. Much love, Mother.
