of Kings - said his boy is very fond of them - and 1/2 bu. of culls, mixed. I went to Mrs. Hart's to the silver tea, library benefit, and met several winter visitors who want to buy Kings and navels. The big house is very elegant, flowers, ditto, and the young women members of the Young Woman's Club were extra ditto in their beautiful soft swingy gowns, gems, etc. Margaret Maudis "poured" at one end and Mrs. Touchton at the other. I asked for hot water instead of tea, and the y.l. gave me boiling water so I had 3 sips, and 2 sandwiches the size of a silver dollar (I gave only half a dollar) and a dozen peanuts, maybe a tiny cookie. Anyway, I wasn't hungry and went to the d.r. simply to see the lovely flowers and enjoy the beauty of the room. Mrs. Jordan of Highland Lakes, took us from the Jacaranda & back, and I walked both ways to & from there. Then packed fruit when I got my working clothes on.
