LC to FT 3. 8/9/79

Mary is setting the "Invocation" to music. When she gets the music written, I'll send you a copy so you can try it out. I am submitting "Invocation for May Day" with music for publication in the IW May Day issue of 1980.

Now as to the sonnet you have on file "In Memory of Joe Hill (executed October 19, 1915). I am typing a clan copy and submitting it to the Editorial Collective for publication in a mourning box in the November issue of the IW.

By the way, Frank sent me a Joe Hill petition. Please let me know how the centennial affair is shaping up. I am completely isolated from the movement down here. I carry on as a speaker in the local anti-nuke movement. And, as I believe I showed in my article in the American Nuclear Society which appeared in the July issue of the IW, I am trying to hit with facts at the soft underbelly of the nuclear power industry. I liked the way my piece was featured. I had to call attention through FW Harris, however, that quotation marks in the printed article were improperly placed with relation to periods and commas.

I see from the last bulletin that the IW is in bad straits. I noted you kicked in a $100 for the fund. I shall contribute when I get some consulting work. Will send you my brochure under separate cover with article which appeared setting forth my position on nuclear power and nuclear warheads in last Thursday's Athens-Banner Herald.

I am doing what I can -- and know you are probably doing more than one man should. Yours L
