doing the washing. She chose the bottom prat of the old Frigidaire and had one young one when I decided it was too dirty a place. So I brought out the nice clean box I had fixed for her in my room by the desk, and put it in the corner of the garage by the o.f. and transferred her and the infant. She took it all right, and the 3 others came along in due time. More drowning! Oh dear - I think I'll have Shinola spayed. Only it will be a lot of trouble to take her away to have it done. So they will be here next Saturday. Another letter from Helen - maybe I mentioned it. Marcel is in a Rest Home somewhere in England. It has been thundering but no rain to speak of. Lucille & Gene just brought a long letter from Jack & Jen [via?] Thomas in reply to one I wrote them for their birthdays. Please put the bonds with the others for safe keeping. Just paid out $50.60 for painting the garage and have not yet paid for the paint which is $10+ - so I won't have anything for deposit yet awhile. Love to all. Mother
