Dear Fred Thompson, I am writing to see if you can help me in some research I'm doing which involves the publishing activities of Charles H. Kerr Books. I recently read your very interesting and stimulating memories of Halifax in 1919 in This Magazine and noticed in the comment by John Bell that like so many you learned your socialism from Charles H. Kerr books and that you are new on the board of that great publishing house.
