4 Billy - David has the whooping cough. That was another reason why I didn't write. Even happy letters might carry a germ. But he's all right now and next Thursday is to be a gorgeous Indian chieftain and leader of the war dance. I made his huge, gayly feathered head dress dying feathers - trimming his suit and mocassins. Had to make another suit for Jack. It is to be a Hiawatha festival for the whole school. that with evening gowns and Indian suits my fingers are stitched raw and my eyes crossed. Of course I'm writing - I'm always doing that myself and coaxing other folks to do it. I wish you'd write me a poem. I've found a young novelist - a second Barrie - right here in town. do you remember hearing me speak of a young couple - Chrissy and Bell Aitken? He's the lad. And oh - Katharine - he's writing the most exquisite book! I'm more interested in his first than in the three I'm writing. I want him to enter it in that $17500 competition
