It is not that I should have missed the book, for I should have bought it earlier but then it would not have been your gift, for which I so greatly value it. A friend wrote for me, to tell you I was disabled by an automobile accident, but broken bones and lacerated muscles did not stand in the way of my enjoyment in your warmth as I lay in bed day after day.
