unclear - Behold ye despisers & wonder, & perish,- For I work a work, in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe although a man declare it unto you- This was the real case with the Jews & is still- They despised Christ, & wondered at the rise & progress of his cause- & wondered why their Mesiah did not come & so perished in their sins- Christ wrought--- a work in their days- a work of infinite grace in the redemption of men- & at the same time left them, to perish in their unbelief of it, although declared unto them, in the clearest manner- So they continue still- In like manner all who despise Christ in his person- characters word, or people- & wonder at the folly of christianity perish in their
