Than ne'er canst chase the clouds away
Which o'er any changing vision roll

Dear Sarah write me a good long letter as soon as you receive this I do not want you should hurt yourself but take time enough and don't write when you don't feel able tell me all about every thing Give my love to Ann ask her if she grows lazy now she does not have my fire to kindle. Give my love particular to Mary and Julia Kellogg. I was sorry I did not see them to bid them good bye. Mrs. Duffy too don't forget her, I hope she won't have to work to hard. Remember me to all the rest that enquire after me. I have great hurry; for we have an engagement out this afternoon I should have waited till I returned home before I write but I have heard an old friend of mine has gone to Paris and my time will be occupied with her a day or two and I was so anxious to hear from you I would not delay. I hope you will be able to read this though you will not lose much if you you cannot. I told you I could not write a letter worth reading--- My back says stop and you know the back is a hard master and then my head puts in a claim too not because its scources are exhausted (as you might suppose) but because it aches. Good bye dear. Receive a kiss wafted by my spirit. Sarah
