Saratoga Springs Sept _ 1855 Sarah & Cynthia - my Dear Children,

  Long ere this I dare say you have arrived at the conclusion that I had forgotten you or became indifferent about redeeming my promise but neither of these is, I assure you, for you are bound to me by the fondest ties and your memory will ever be cherished with fond recollection, I have neglected writeing more on the account of inability than anything else.
