Oh, mother, I do hope that I have now fairly started on the road to health, and that I should soon commence to travel much faster. I know it would be a [hard track], almost, if not quite as hard for you as for me, but still it may be, it would not be safe for me, to be well, and consequently, exposed to all the temptations of society. Dear mother, if I was well and able to indulge in all the pleasures which most others enjoy, who knows, but what I would be led astray, who knows what would become of me.
