Ann has been writing to Mary today. The letter is waiting for me to take in the morning. It seems lonely not to have George come and go and bring the mail. He is gone where he was before and I do not know when he is expected home (Anna says tomorrow) Jane had a letter from Turin Friday. Maggie keeps about the same - not gaining - Jane means to go to see her and Clara wrote to inquire if she can get there if she goes up on the cars. She was in church Sunday she was very sorry not to have heard you the Sunday before but she was sick abed so that neither she nor Clara could go. I have heard several speak of how well you did. I thanked Wm. Thomas for what he had given you and said we had not expected so much. He said it was all right that you did very well indeed - John D. told Gwen you did splendid. She told me and she said she had seen him talking with you a little before - so she asked him if he had told you how well he liked your preaching. No, he said - I did not want to spoil him - we all are too apt to get proud! Gwen enjoyed the sermon very much but she did not feel quite sure whether you did not give Satan too high praise when you spoke of him as omniscient! She believes he knows a great deal is full of all mischief but does he know everything?
