not good for much by the time they reached New York, am glad the Tallman sweets stood it better. We had quite a time getting the Cenhadwr off and preparring for meeting, but just when it was nearly time to begin to look for the ministers to come out of meeting (about three o'clock) and we were not nearly ready for them our good friend Carrie Griffiths came in. She said that they knew we must have a great deal to do and as they were nearly through she came to help us - and truly she did help.- She mopped, cut apples, made pies &c. and all the rest of us seemed to work easier after she came so that by tea time all was in apple pie order, and all went to evening meeting except Anna and I - no one came to stay
