Rathbun House. Cape Vincent Saturday. July 30th. 1881. My dear Cousins,

  Here I am on the St. Lawrence, about which I have heard so much! Bessie and I arrived in safety. on Thursday about 5.40. She was so good the whole way, we started at 12.22 - & had two changes to make - Clarence, Loney?, Mr. & Mrs. Williams met us at the Depot. Ella had overslept. This is a lovely spot such a stretch of water, and the hotel quite near it The hotel is very badly managed. I went out on the grass? with Clarence the first evening and enjoyed it so much all my timidity is gone. We intended going to Kingston today, but we did not feel quite well enough - I had to keep my room almost all yesterday. twice quite sick. Today I am much better
