This Company [?] on the Country. I expect "Trooper Billie" to [?] on a round of the stocks in about two months, as Mr Edwards or rather his firm is making an arrangement with me to provide handsome printing for the play, without which it is impossible to get good stock time for any new play. I am to re-write the first act, which did not please me. When I saw it acted, and as soon as the printing is ready "Trooper Billie" will go forth. As to the new play, it has made a sensation and Mr Edwards told Fred Peters, who told me with tears in his eyes, that it was the best Comedy he had read in ten years and he regarded me as the coming dramatist of the Country. I have an appointment made by Mr Edwards to read it aloud
