Utica May 11-1882- My dear Cousins - This morning a note from Hettie for Mam- saying Grandpa was very weak today - hardly able to walk. Mama went over - and found him very feeble. after a while he wanted to go to lie down - and Mama and Hettie helped him - one on each side and it seemed to be all he could do, to go from. the dining room to the bed room - Grandpa said that he thought at the time this morning - he was "almost gone" and they think he would have been had not Hattie given him egg and wine - It is a very bad day for unclear - there being a strong east wind - We hope Grandpa will be better again still Mama says she
