MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1864. Had a very quiet day, my wound did not pain me at all.

TUESDAY 6 About midnight my wound began to pain me and continued all day. I had a very high fever which was the cause of it. Was very sick in thre evening.

WEDNESDAY 7 Col Hartwell, Lt Poreck and two other officers received note to be ready to go north on this steamer. But don't get off until early next morning
