D.C. Chicago Apr 3rd 1888 H. B. Stone Esq Gen. Manager C B & Q R R CIty

Dear SIr Following please find report of Opr D.C. for Friday March 30" 1888 Opr went to vicinity of 14" and Jefferson Sts where a meeting was being held. The meeting was called to order about 10 . No special reports came in. The committees werecalled on to make reports but they had none to make The business unclear did not amount to much They talked about boycoting the Burlington and as a matter of precaution said they would do away with the word "boycott" and substitute the word "Hoodoed" There was quite a contest between switchmen and the engineers. A switchman got up and said the engineers were using them as tools and that they did not make any bones of it One man got up and said that the engineers promised them everything when they went out and saw they got working Mattie Cannons an Engineer on the "Q" stated that their chief (unclear ) had pledged them at a meeting in TOwn Hall that they would give them their financial support and that the switchmen were to be treated as brothers. as if they were in the order
