My Dear Wife: I have just come in with Wisner, on horseback- 30 miles. Am a little tired. The mail closes in a half hour, and is nearly half a mile away. I have got three letters from you in my pocket unopened as yet. This is Wisner's Post Office and I haven't heard a word of news for the week I have been away, but had a good time nevertheless. Much more by the next mail from Your Affectionate husband Simeon Whiteley.
