that some of the richest gold lead and gulches exist. Dont you want 160 acres over there - and other interests? Is it best to locate the Agency and Military post at Grand City? Remember I have nothing to say about it officially. Grand City is only the same distance from Central, (at present the richest mining region here) that Denver is. It is too high up to raise Com. but for everything else, is a vastly superior agricultural region to that on this side the Mountains requiring no irrigation. Remember this is what everybody says. Well, as rich an agricultural region as is described- ten to fifteen miles wide- thirty long- with several arms, might support a longer population of miners. The utter inexhaustibility of the gold mines, not a single man that I have talked with doubts for a moment. Agriculture will pay. Of course the railroad to the Pacific Ocean is to go through Denver and Grand City. Not up that high grade-O. no- but through the mountains- and the gold ore taken out of the tunnels
