Well Russell is building road over the Range- and the steepest grade is not to be more than 575 feet per mile. This will reduce the distance to Salt Lake nearly two hundred Miles (from the Mo. River.) 24 miles of road is to cost $125,000. The road is to go by the Boiling Sulphur Springs where "Grand City" is laid out. All that country belongs to my Indians. Such is the attraction there that several large parties of ladies and gentlemen went there last summer on pleasure excursions, over such roads. On the 4th of July next it is expected that a thousand people will celebrate the day there, and honor the completion of Russell's road. Russell got Gov.
