exposed to North. Sheltered from south winds. Hot in summer cold in winter. Comparatively little tinder for several miles on south side. Each of the above described sites for Posts has a good site for a (containment?) within a mile. About two miles south west from Barrel Springs the river runs abruptly against a bluff bank from fifty to seventy feet high, and then goes off at an acute angle to the eastward. The highland forming these bluffs is cut by ravines into regular spaces, each sufficiently roomy for a large Post. These are in my opinion the best site for a Post to be found on the North Fork of Canadian Advantages. High dry well drained prairie seventy to one hundred feet above river. Red clay soil. From this elevation they are exposed to winds from every direction and ought to be perfectly healthy. There are several slopes, all well adapted for a Post. All very near river. Has 1&2
