FRIDAY, MARCH 4, 1864. Went down town and was mustered in as Capt of Co. C. Went to see Caroline. Saw John Peck, he told me Dan Thompson, & Andy Ros & some more Canonsburgers were in Co. A. 25th the other regt in camp. saw them

SATURDAY 5 Am officer of the day of Camp William Penn. That is kind of rushing things I am thinking. Made the grand rounds and found the men pretty well posted in their duties.

SUNDAY 6 Got a pass to go to church in the city, but as Lieut W. was detailed as officer of the guard I was unable to go. We now have an asst. Surgeon & 8 2d. Lieuts & Lt. Col. 2. 1st Lieuts
