very calmly on this subject- But time has dulled the keenness of the disappointment, and I sometimes take comfort in the thought that financially at least I am better off than if I had gone. Still I should like to know who to remember in my prayers- as I say "as we forgive those who trespass us" And if you cannot help me in the matter- Why I have told somebody the story- in part at least, and when you return the papers for which I herewith send a formal request addressed officially I will file a copy of this letter with them that my heirs and administration may learn how I was once foolish enough to "seek" an office and didn't get it- Very Truly Yours Simeon Whiteley.
