Trout stood the march splendidly - & is very cheerful. Just at dark we were all electrified by the report that a mail had come. It may soon be brought down & opened in my tent & was apparently very satisfactory bale. To me very much so except that there is a prospect of my losing Morton, whose wife is about to be confined - He has permission to go in - Letters from Father & several to Fred from Gracie Ga?
