  There seems to be a revival of unclear to mining & the report now is that they will be taken out. It is a confound shame to the miner & also to us who should not be put to such dirty work. Ordered a sergt & 4 men to go & meet Genl C. Hawley & the 4 unclear got in about 12 am. all in good condition. The mining prospects are better on Spring & French Cks. The Colter are all up & we are intact except the Infantry & the Scientific party - Jeremy is said to be growing crazy on the gold question.
