MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1863. Having heard that the Reserve had come up the river I went down to the wharf and learned that they had landed at Alexandria. Went to the Provost marshall office and got a pass to go over.

TUESDAY 10 Started early in the morning to Alexandria & found all the boys. Saw Capt Craig who is on detached duty in the Straglers camp. When I came back to camp found the regt had marching orders

WEDNESDAY 11 Had inspection at sunrise and began to pack up for to be ready to go. Went & spoke to Judge Kelly David Reed called a few minutes to see me.
