They are a lazy lot. {{unclear]] the large men of them are loafers at unclear & came out here expecting to pick up gold unclear work -- The usual picture in our more leisurely digging in a hole, which a dozen others are setting around looking ore & commenting. 

  After an hours march this and I found miners camps. The occupants of which were yet burrowed in profound slumbers.
