MONDAY, JANUARY 25, 1864. Capt Osborne went home today telling me to run the machine until he would come back. Lt Dalgliesh is acting Inspt Genl.

TUESDAY 26 Genl Newton wife & children visited the Brig today. The rebs are making a great smoke in their camps on the other side of the Rapidan. At night a great light.

WEDNESDAY 27 Went down town & took a stroll. We have had the finest weather for some time. As warm as May.
