surveying? He reports Indian sign in plenty, & that the prairie has been unclear all about the Cheyenne. There is also news on a report coming from the miners who came in yesterday or today, that the Cheyennes had stolen all the stock at Ft Hartsuff on the Loup. & that Genl Crook had ordered all the Cheyennes out of the Dept & ordered the troops to kill them whenever found.
