arrives here to find that the soldiers have panned out fifty times more gold today then he has found all the trip - He is terribly jealous & fearful that some one besides himself should discover the gold. I would not be greatly surprised if todays discoveries shorten our expedition --- Trout goes back tomorrow with escort of 10 men & six wagons for Jenney & the compy left behind - I shall send out a party
