The South & South west views were bounded by as ragged & jagged a mass of mountains as I have ever seen & most of them seem to be very high - The interior of this basin was filled with a mass of hill & canon mixed together in the most indiscernable? manner & apparently without system or order. Generally such a view would give some idea of the water shed, the course of the streams etc but very little can be gained from any study
