dry weather & crossed teh creek where he pleased - Every crossing with us is a most serious matter. Quartz has been found today in considerable quantities- some of it seems gold bearing. Jenney is going to stop & work part of tomorrow - The timber has been much burned. That on the mt tops is small - on the sides larger & better - Distance 12 /12 miles - Wagons got with camp at 5.30 pm. Only one or two deer today.
