rampaging around such a difficult country as this - He didn't want to strike Custer Trail. He was exploring & wanted to make trails of his own - but with my train I couldn't see the merit of experimenting & kept on for Custer's Trail - About 11 am & less than two miles from where he got "mad" we struck Custers trail - going south west in a valley of which the one we came down is a tributary - Here I stopped again to wait for the wagons.
