& go into camp - on a beautiful spot with good wood & water & splendid grass. Unusually careful about stock today. We are in the home of the Redman & where where we came into the valley passed the camp of a war party of about 100 strong bound west, probably for Fetterman & the R.R. The camp was about three days old. Distance today 14 miles. Total 58 1/2 mi.
