"Thy sins are forgiven thee." Peace, rapturous piece came instantly to my soul, and I spent the remainder of the night in praising the triumphant God who I felt had snatched me as a brand plucked from the burning. I think that every one of the blessed promises of God through Jesus Christ rushed through my mind during those brief hours, and, praise be to God, I was then and there and able to take them to my heart believing that "the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin." From that moment I have never doubted the salvation of my soul through the merits and atoning sacrifice of the Son of God; and that by the grace of God alone I was "taken out of the horrible pit and mirey clay of sin" and corruption and placed upon the firm foundation of eternal life, Jesus Christ the Rock of my salvation. I cannot look upon myself in any other light than as a monument of the grace of God. My faith on this point is written in the first and second chapters of Ephesians. From this night, the precious Bible, which before had been a sealed book to me, opened to my understanding the truth as it is in Jesus. I read it with new light and received it as I had never done before. The way of salvation was revealed to me in all its power and fruitfulness. I realised that I was one in the Beloved
