Friday Nov. 19 1897 warming up. a.m. husked corn 2 shocks 8 bus. p.m. Eli (home from school early) and I husked 3 shocks 12 bus. old Mr. Jerome over there. broke wagon a little. I sat up. Sat 20 Fair warm Eli Ike & I husk corn a.m. 5 shocks 17 bus. p.m. 6 shocks 19 bus. Father seems better Sun. 21 Fair. warm. lots of boys at SS. Tite, Vincent, Yesberger. Roy Miss Sears & I to Lake Ave. 22 present mostly children. appointed Committee for Christmas. Quartette before C.E. I sat up. Mon 22 cloudy cooler a.m. hauled 4 loads furnace wood from grove to cellar p.m. slept. then brot. in bedding from stack. Tues. 23 coldest yet? a.m. mowed away corn stalks p.m. took nap. then Eli Ike & I to hill lot got load stalks. Annie here supper lost my mittens Wed 24 very cold a.m. mowed away corn stalk p.m. monkeyed. chop corn stalks Chas. hauled rest of wood fr. grove bought mittens. Will Young here. Jo came home.
