Well, quite a long rigmarole perhaps it amounts to nothing.

But I do not know as I can advise you, and if I did you might not follow it. If Dr. Munde goes to Waterford perhaps you had better stay there; that is if you are comfortable there, every thing perfectly convenient, and pleasant. that I shall soon come myself to see.
  If Dr. Munde does not go there; I do decidedly object your remaining there. My own feeling would be for you to go back to Milo, or rather perhaps to Hampden; make up your mind to Wait & get Well. practise constant, but gentle Water Cure, be contented & happy with home & friends & every thing around you; I will quit my business and come and play Back gammon with you if necessary. At any rate, forget all about the future, have comfort & pleasure enough about you and enjoy them every day. I will warrant you with proper course, to enjoy life better than 999 mortals out of 1000 in so doing.

You may not get entirely well next year, perhaps not the year after. You never will get well suddenly; but I think I would warrant you a smart active business man in 1856. to be sure it is bad enough; but even at that, 7 years out of a man's life, many a one has wasted that, even before your age, and yet done well in the end.

 If on the other hand, you decide to go to Brattleboro,  of course you will decide for yourself. Write to me just when you want to go and I will be there and accompany you I can just exactly as well as not, and I am better acquainted with Rail Road Travelling, and can do you good.  I can land you at Dr. Wesselheft's by easy stages & convenient journeys.
