I went to Lowel one day last week, have been wanting to go there ever since I have been here, stayed over night. I liked some of the folks pretty well especially the children Cousin Sarah, Mrs. Hunt has some pretty ones. But I was most pleased with that that little cousin Charles whom I have never seen before. I really fell in love with the little fellow. But I expect they will kill him to death with Music. etc. Uncle Enoch is doing nothing I judge; living upon his fat in an upstairs back. Mr. Hunt is a smart money making man I guess, good sort of a man. Issac N. is full of music, gives lessons in all the Public Schools of the City, 22 per week. Private & Public Classes & lessons to the extent of his while time or more: and I guess has got a good wife.

You speak of Stars & Earth, its ideas as of not much value: practical value I suppose. If you mean that they will not produce much dollars & cents: very well; but are they not worth some thing as a sort of Boot Tree to the mind, helping to expand it to that greatness which you say is its own exceeding great reward?
I have not since a great while received a letter from Anne and answered it. The same for Lucy & Samuel. Mother & especially Eliab I have not heard from for some time.

Anne thinks she will not retain her present situation after the two years is out, next August I suppose.

You ask who were my friends & acquaintance in Turner. All the folks of three or four years since especially in the South and East part of the Town Talbots, Carey's, Bradfords Brays Whitmans etc. etc. etc. etc. North & west, I knew not so much. I am a little afraid of Samuel's Flour Speculation.
As for your remaining at Waterford, if Dr. Munde comes there I advise you by all means to day, stay, if he does not, perhaps you had better get what advice you can have of him as to future treatment and go home, establish yourself at Milo or at Hampden & get well as steadily as you can, or go to Brattleboro.

The Dr. Munde I have heard of. The item of expense which you refer to is hardly worth minding much. What sort of word is Hydrotherapy? Write to me immediately on decision & Munde Dr. to go or not to Waterford.
