Anne says that you have simply overworked your brain, and your present disease is simply a sympathetic irritation of the spinal column. I am inclined to think she is about half right. at any rate my brain would be overworked to think half as you do. If that is the case the natural simple remedy is to think less/

 Why not for a spell, be, & do like others. Lay aside almost entirely your books, your writing & your thinking. Be content to lay around in the sun, or load around among folks or trees, and enjoy life. Return to Childhood & live by feeling instead of thinking. Even if you intend to make thinking your business, you will thus do more of it in your life: Even if you did not think now for a year or two, there would still be time enough & enough for you to do.

I am so sorry I could not have got you here this summer I would have trained you riding round with me. Live like an Native instead of a German by feeling instead of by thinking
